What’s God teaching you?

What’s God teaching you?

Hey girls!  Hope you are all doing great as we see the end of school fast approaching! :)    Just wondering what you are learning right now.  I love it when the Lord makes His point clear by hitting it home multiple times from multiple different locations.  Sometimes its the same verse or idea from several different books or a book and a sermon and sometimes even a billboard.  I am learning to view nothing as just a mere coincidence.   Within the last week the Lord  has  hit me up with 2 Chronicles on 3 different occasions from 3 different  sources.  The first was in 2 Chronicles  6 in a Beth Moore Bible Study (The Inheritance) and the second during Sunday’s service – 2 Chronicles  7:14 and again in a book on Monday -  2 Chronicles 7:14.

2 Chronicles 7:14  NIV

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

I think God is calling our nation to revival,  but it has to start with believers.   I, like most of you, live in the Bible Belt – i.e. most everyone goes to church – it’s just the norm.   You most likely will not be ridiculed for going to church, but you might be if you talk about God  in an “inappropriate setting” – say a football game, or if  you take a strong stand on something.  In  other words it is really easy to be lukewarm in the  south.  You are in the majority!  But we know God is not about lukewarm.   In Revelations  3:16  He  says “So, because you are  lukewarm-neither hot nor  old-I am about to spit  you out of my mouth.”    It is  time for Christians to draw a line in the sand  – are we for  Christ – really for Him no matter what  others may say or think – or are we against Him?  Are we hot or are  we cold?   Are we willing to fight for what is important to Him or will we sit back and let others make a stand.  Jesus says “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will  also  acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.   But whoever  disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” (Matthew  10:32-33)  Ladies let’s stand up for Jesus – the one who called us by name, who gave His life for us and right now is at the right hand of God interceding on our behalf!  Let’s order our families in such a way that our kids know that God is our priority and not anything else!  It is often said  that sometimes we are the only picture of God that people see or the only Bible that they read.  We are meant to be the light in the darkness.  We are meant to stick out like sore thumbs.  With the Holy Spirit of the one true God living in us, we are  different.  We should look different and live different!  I love you ladies!  Now go spread the love of Christ and let me know how you are  sticking  out!

My verse is posted above (2 Chronicles  7:14 NIV).    Now let’s hear yours!

Love, Kimberly

Sooooo. . .

Sooooo. . .

Even I  am shocked that this post will be on time!  So what have I been up to?  I’m so glad you asked!  Some friends and I went to Extraordinary Women this weekend in Birmingham.   It  was  fun to get away!  This year their focus is on Extraordinary Faith.  Key verses were Hebrews  11:1  and Hebrews  11:6.  Both some of my  faves!  Lysa TerKeurst  was one  of the  speakers.  I had never heard her before  and really enjoyed  her  talk.  A couple of key points I would like to pass along to you are the following:  She said there are 3 critical choices when we  face  a wall of impossibility. 1.  At the crossroad I can choose to a.  have a breakdown or b. by the power of  God I  can choose to have a breakthrough! 2.  Will I choose to ingest this and other truths or will I go one step further and really digest it – get it from my head all the way to my toes and walk it out?(this taken from one of Beth Moore’s talks). 3.  Am I going to choose to look at the impossibility or at God?  Rather than fearing impossibilities let’s remember to introduce our problems to our God!   She reminded us to look at the word impossible and from now on view it as i’m possible, because God is possible!  What is impossible with man is possible with God!  He is the great I AM and He loves us dearly!!!

Now for  my verse:

James  1:22 NET

“But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.”

Alright girls!   Hope you have an awesome week!  Valerie we  will continue to pray for a speedy recovery!
Love you all!  P.S. As always, if you a little behind no worries!  Just go back and log in your verses!!!  You can do it!

Hey Ladies!

Hey Ladies!

How’s it going girls?  How’s the memorizing?  What’s going on with you?  We seem to be just going and going and going.  Saturday we had 4 games!  Luke  had 2 and Halle and Kelli each had 1!    Busy, busy!   Can’t imagine what it will be like when our little bear starts doing activities!  Can today really be April 23rd?  I can’t believe it!!  That means just 4 1/2 weeks left of school for us!!  Wow!!!  Time really does fly!  I pray this summer will be a slow, easy one with  loads of memories!!

So what has God been teaching you lately?  What verses stick out to you?  What are you studying?  Our Bible Study is doing Beth Moore’s The Inheritance!  It’s a really good one!   No homework on this one – and I miss it!  :(

Ok I really like this verse and want it committed to memory, so i’m taking a break from  James this week! :)

Isaiah 51:16a NIV

“I have  put my  words in your mouth and  covered you with the shadow of my hand.”

Now let’s here yours’!

Love you girls!!

Well Hello There!

Well Hello There!

I hope you didn’t give up on me!  I keep thinking I will prepare this a couple of days in advance and then just hit post the day of, but so far it has not happened!  I hope you knew I would show up sooner or later!   (We’re all  hoping for sooner next post rather than later!!)  Life is just busy, isn’t it?  Can it really be anything but busy when you have kids and a job and your kids’ activities and then your own activities?  I’m busy,  but I love it so and even when I have been a little less busy in life I seem to get a little bored and sign up for something else!  Margin might be a good thing – i don’t know!  LOL!

Happy Easter week, by the way!  We have egg hunts everywhere I turn it seems.   I just bought 200 eggs just to do for mine and Stephen’s families today!   Our church will have Good  Friday services on  Friday, and I am excited about that!   How about ya’ll, what are you up to?  What special traditions do you enjoy most about Easter?

And  drumroll please -  Here are my verses!  Don’t forget your’s!  And as always, if you’ve fallen off the wagon just go right ahead and fall back on!

James 1:19-21 NET

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak , slow to anger.  For human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.   So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted with in you, which is able to save your souls.”

Alright, let’s hear ‘um girls!  I appreciate you all so much!  Keep on keepin’ on and have an awesome Easter!

Love,  Kimberly

Hey Chosen Ladies! Verse 4 here we come!!!

Hey Chosen Ladies! Verse 4 here we come!!!

Hope you have had a great week!  We  have been on spring break this week so I apologize for the late post!   We headed  down to Destin for a couple of days, but now we are back and enjoying “sleeping in” a little before we  have to return to the routine on Monday!  So sad!  What have you been up to this week?

I know a couple of you have commented that you have fallen off the wagon so to speak!  Well,  fall back on!  You can do it!  Girls if you don’t mind after you post your verse post a word of encouragement to each other today!  I could use it just like all of you!!

Sorry for such a short post , but we have to get the ball rolling girls!! :)

James  1:12-18 NET

“Happy is the one who endures testing, because when he has proven to be genuine, he will  receive the crown of  life that God promised to those who love him.  Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am  tempted  by God, ” for God cannot be tempted by evil, and  he himself tempts no one.  But each  one  is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desires.  Then when desire conceives, it gives  birth to sin,  and when sin is full grown, it gives  birth to death.  Do not be led astray, my dear brothers and sisters.  All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above,  coming down  from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation o r the slightest hint of change.  By his sovereign plan he gave us birth through the message of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.”

Hip Hip Hooray!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Hey ladies!  One month down, and we’re on  a roll!  I’m so proud of you!  I love to hear how it’s going, so feel free to give us a heads up with your verse entry!  Don’t give up!   Try to spend time mediating on your verse daily!  This will really help you memorize it!

So just out of curiosity,  what are you studying right now.  Our Tuesday morning Bible Study is studying James.  Just one week to go and it has been a blast.   I  have learned so much!   One thing that stuck out this past week that I loved was when Beth was talking about how some people are going through a time in their lives when things aren’t really okay and so they fake that things are okay.  I guess we’ve all been there one time or another, and the truth is people can only take so much of listening to our sorrows – they can only do so much to help, and so we learn to fake it.  Beth says sometimes it hurts the worst when it seems that no one notices, and we feel all alone!  She continues (and I love this), “Then comes the Son of Man looking for you like no one else exists.”  How true!  Remember when He left the 99 to search for the 1 lost sheep or the rejoicing when the prodigal son returns home.  That’s how much  He love us!  That’s how much He loves you!  May you feel His overwhelming embrace and sense the smile on His face as you dive into His word, hiding it in your  heart!

Kimberly Mason, Tuscaloosa, AL:

James 1:5-11 NET

“But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask  God, who gives to all generously and  without reprimand, and it will be  given to  him.  But  he  must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown  and tossed  around by the wind.  For that person must  not  suppose  that he will receive anything  from the Lord, since he is a double-minded individual, unstable in all his ways.   Now the believer in humble  means should take pride in his high position.  But the rich person’s pride  should  be in his humiliation, because he will  pass  away like a wildflower in the meadow.   For the sun rises with its heat  and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls  off  and its beauty is lost forever.  So also  the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will  wither away.”

Okay, girls, let’s hear them!  Hope you all have an awesome weekend!   Remember you are chosen by the most High!  Praise Him!

Love,  Kimberly

I haven’t forgotten you!!!

I haven’t forgotten you!!!

In fact, I have been thinking about you on and off  all through out the day!  I am so proud of our group and everyone who is working  so hard to memorize the Word!!  Y’all are awesome!  Okay so now is the time to enter your second verse!   Any verse, any version!  Just type it all in the comment section of this post.  Also, a lot of you mentioned that you weren’t  sure  if you posted your verse in the correct  place and while all of you did not – we have verses pasted all over this site somewhat like a toddler with wallpaper,  I love it!!  And that is just fine!  Your’s truly  created a new page instead of a new post, and  that didn’t  help any of  us!  We are all learning!  And memorizing scripture is our only real goal here!   Plus, who wouldn’t love scripture wallpaper?  So now for the verses!    Just as an aside, my first verse was not out of James, but the remainder will be!  Our  women’s Bible Study at church is studying James by Beth Moore!  She challenges us to memorize the entire book of  James, so guess who feels challenged? :)     Help me stay on target girls!!!!   May I also just throw out that I really did not want to study James, and  God just had a different plan, and oh how I love it!!!   Praise you Lord Jesus!  FYI we meet Tuesdays  from 9:30-11:30 at Northriver Church and you are all more than welcome to attend!  So here we go,  verse 2!

Kimberly Mason,  Tuscaloosa, AL:

James 1:1-4 NET

“From James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes dispersed abroad! Greetings!  My brothers and sisters, consider  it nothing but joy  when you fall into all sorts of trials,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces   endurance.  And let endurance have its perfect effect,  so that you will be perfect and complete,  not deficient in anything.”

Let’s hear ’em girls!   Much love,  Kimberly

Let’s do it girls!!!

Let’s do it girls!!!

Hey everybody! I’m so thrilled you’ve all decided to join in the fun!! It’s not too late for your friends to join in either!!! Also don’t stress if you miss the entry and have to enter your verse a couple of days late!!! We are here to encourage each other in the word!!!

When beginning to memorize scripture I always think of several verses! Hebrews 4:12 HCSB “For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas of the heart.”. Aren’t we so thankful that His word is alive, effective and as the NIV says active!! Yes Lord!!! Also Psalm 107:19-20 HCSB “then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distress. He sent His word and healed them; He rescued them from the Pit. “. Bring it Lord!! We adore you!! Okay so here goes. The following is my entry, feel free to use my verse or anyone else’s!!!

Kimberly Mason Tuscaloosa, AL: Psalm 107:19-20 HCSB “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distress, He sent His word and healed them; He rescued them from the ‘Pit.”

God bless each one of you today! may He meet you and your need, and may you feel His presence and sense His warm embrace!!! Love,Kimberly!! Now let’s see your verses in the comments!!!

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Very 1st post!!! :)

Very 1st post!!! :)

Chosen Ladies:

Just  this past  weekend I went to a conference or better yet a celebration in  Houston,  TX!  The celebration’s official name was Siesta Scripture Memorization Team Celebration or SSMTC for short.  Last year Beth Moore from Living Proof (www.lproof.org) challenged anyone and everyone on her blog to memorize  2 scriptures  a month and  log them onto her blog.  At the end of the  year as a reward for hard work done she did a free conference for those who successfully completed the task.  Glory to God, I was one of those!  It was great fun!!!  Not only had I hidden the word  in my heart, but I also received a fresh word from the Lord, made new friends and then, of course, there  was the food!!!  Well, before I get  totally sidetracked about the food -  which I totally could!  I mean the portions are quite literally the size of the state of TEXAS! – let me complete my thoughts.  During the weekend Beth  taught from the book of 2 John.  One of  her points was to Listen  with the ears of  a  chosen lady!  We are  chosen!  He chose us, we did not choose Him!!!   Glory to God in the highest!!!  Girls  I just know I am  not smart enough to choose Him on my own!  Anyway, the greek for chosen ladies is ekelktis  kurios.  I almost thought about naming the blog that, but  then figured  that we might never find the blog again, so I chose to go with the English! :)    Beth is  taking a year off from the scripture memory challenge, but I hope to  continue to hide  the Word in my heart and  hope that I just might find some girls willing to join me on  the ride!  So  here’s  the deal if you’re in!   Twice  a month on the first and  the 15th  of  each  month I will do a  post to remind you to enter  your verse.  You can pick any verse from any version.  When you make your entry please enter just you name, hometown (i realize there might not be a lot of variety here, but we will take what we can get!  :) ), and your verse typed out with the version along  side  it.   Since we are already well  into January  let’s start on February 1st.  Please invite any and all friends, acquaintance or even random stranger (don’t think I won’t) who you think would like to  participate.  As a reward,  well i don’t know.  I  definitely can’t promise you a Beth Moore conference,  but we could plan a fun girls’ trip for a  long  weekend.   Or maybe you have a better suggestion.  We will plan to reward ourselves in January of 2013!   I’ll take suggestions! :)   Also, just as a matter of warning:  spelling is not my strong  suit.  You may occasionally run into a misspelled word!   I will try to get  me a trusty dictionary, but with all these little people running around I can’t promise that it will always be used!   Who knew?  – Spellcheck on Wordpress!  whoo  hooo!   So here we have it – The first entry, please respond with your name and your hometown if you intend to join the adventure  of memorizing God’s word and letting God use it to change you!  God bless you all! Love,  Kimberly
